I'm often getting 'FATAL: Received Segment Violation...dying.' from
both our Debian Linux boxes (2.0.33 with 3000 file descriptors),
and it usually happens two or three times in succession :-(
These particluar boxes have been running Squid-1.1.20 using the
same hardware for three months with no problems. 1.2-beta21 is
compiled with ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/squid --enalbe-snmp
What would be the best way to enable core files to be dumped ? (and
hence run gdb to find out what went wrong).
Squid currently starts up from root using the RunCache script,
after which it runs as user 'squid' and group 'squid'

Subject: The Squid Cache (version 1.2.beta21) died.
You've encountered a fatal error in the Squid Cache version 1.2.beta21.
If a core file was created (possibly in the swap directory),
please execute 'gdb squid core' or 'dbx squid core', then type 'where',
and report the trace back to squid-bugs@nlanr.net.
Thanks!
