removing and then readding a dir

On one of out caches we have three cache_dirs p00, p01, p02
I need to use p02 to deal with a disaster. So I removed it from the squid.conf
file. After the disater was over I added it back. But it p02 has lots
more space used then p00/01 do I need to do anything about this it will it fix
itself in time?
