Setup: Squid v1.1.20 on a mid-high use machine (avg 15,000 connections/half
hour, with peaks MUCH higher), on FreeBSD v2.2.1.
This box is having problems proxying FTP. Trying to access, for example,
ftp.hp.com from a browser through the proxy causes an error message to be
returned to the browser with a "No Object Data", "The remote server closed
the connection before sending any data." error.
Access.log says:
893967403.392 151 192.168.0.10 ERR_ZERO_SIZE_OBJECT/400 755 GET ftp://ftp.hp.com - DIRECT/ftp.hp.com -
cache.log says:
1998/04/30 11:21:40| ftpReadReply: read error: (54) Connection reset by peer
1998/04/30 11:21:40| ERR_READ_ERROR: ftp://ftp.hok.com
ftp from the command line to the same site works without incident.
This is something that definately used to work, but possibly prior
to the last Squid upgrade (previous version=1.1.16).
Any ideas on this one? I've restarted squid several times. Another
note - I can't get ftpget to enable debugging; I've tried adding
-D all, -D all 99, and several other permutations to the ftpget_options
variable in squid.conf with no luck.
Thanks for any info -
Mike
