Is there an issue with compiling and running squid 1.1.21 on an sgi
challenge m with 128meg ram and 9gig disk, running irix 6.2 and compiled
using version 7.2 sgi compiler and gcc version 2.7.2.3
Every time I compile, I get the following error messages appear on my
console even though under irix 5.3 and version 1.1.17 of squid it compiled
and worked brilliantly:-
ld: WARNING 84: /usr/lib/libcrypt.so is not used for resolving any
symbol.
ld: WARNING 84: /usr/lib/lib44bsd.a is not used for resolving any
symbol.
ld: WARNING 84: /usr/gnu/lib/gcc-lib/mips-sgi-irix5.3/2.7.2.2/libgcc.a
is not used for resolving any symbol.
ld: WARNING 85: definition of _calloc in /usr/lib/libmalloc.so preempts
ld: WARNING 85: definition of h_errno in /usr/lib/libresolv.so preempts
that definition in /usr/lib/libc.so.
ld: WARNING 85: definition of _res in /usr/lib/libresolv.so preempts
that definition in /usr/lib/libc.so.
ld: WARNING 84: /usr/gnu/lib/gcc-lib/mips-sgi-irix5.3/2.7.2.2/libgcc.a
is not used for resolving any symbol.
This goes on for several pages and does actually comile and give me an
executable file. But I have not had this working for more than two days
without falling over and totally locking up the sgi.
Can anyone shed any light on this problem or do I have to downgrade my box
to the seemingly more stable irix 5.3. Any suggestions would be most
gratefully received.
Thanks
