Dear all:
I'm using Squid 1.12 on a Pentium Linux Redhat 4.2 system.
The data from TOP command show:
6:53am up 1:53, 1 user, load average: 0.08, 0.03, 0.01
50 processes: 49 sleeping, 1 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped
CPU states: 0.7% user, 1.7% system, 2.4% nice, 97.6% idle
Mem: 127840K av, 124364K used, 3476K free, 17440K shrd, 60100K buff
Swap: 62492K av, 0K used, 62492K free 11540K cached
But from cachemgr.cgi the cache info show:
Memory usage for squid via mallinfo():
Total space in arena: 36850 KB
Ordinary blocks: 36039 KB 22127 blks
Small blocks: 0 KB 0 blks
Holding blocks: 396 KB 2 blks Free Small blocks: 0
KB
Free Ordinary blocks: 811 KB Total in use: 36435 KB 99%
Total free: 811 KB 2%
My question is why the mallinfo total memory (36850 KB) is much less than
total memory by TOP (127840 KB). Is this abnormal?
I notice that the total free reported from mallinfo is only 2%; how should I
correct the problem?
