Microsoft IE4.0 / squid

I have a problem with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 using squid as the
proxy-server.

URL: ftp://ftp.microsoft.com

Try to jump upstairs/downstairs in the directory-tree, click any files,
etc. Suddendly (not always at the same point), it seems that the
connection is lost up to the message Internet Explorer cannot open the
Internet site! The operation timed out.

But: There is never the problem with IE3.0 or Netscape!
