Albert,
Yes you can have authenticated proxy access. The easiest way to
do so is to uncomment the PROXY_AUTH line in the src/Makefile. Then the
version of squid that you are using will support authentication.
In the configuration file you will find and option, proxy_auth.
The option is described in the config file, then off you go!
