I'm actually use Squid 1.1.14 in a Linux 2.0.30+filehandle patch
7.0 combined with TIS 2.0. The Cachemgr reports about 35210 connectios per
hour.
When running, cachemgr is reporting in File Descriptor Usage items
like this:
44 Socket 0 0 .0 http://netmex.com/wwwchat/Comentap.html
49 Socket 0 0 .0 http://chivas.com.mx/chat/entrada.html
50 Socket 0 0 .0 http://www.internetcity.com/Liveart\capture1.gif
54 Socket 0 0 .0
http://www.pathfinder.com/sponsors3/apc/apc_42397_tryplastics_b
and so on (beside the regular file descriptor use); these sockets remains
open forever and increase its number until I shutdown my squid, of course
eventually runs out of file descriptors or decrease the performance.
When I reboot my squid, the perfomance increase again.
żDo you have any idea for resolve this? I´dont found nothing about
this in the FAQ.
The hardware is a Pentium Pro 166 Mhz, 128 Mbytes RAM and 2 Gybtes
for cache and I have a 2 Mbps channel to Internet.
Saludos,
Salvador...
