measuring parent proxying efficacity

Is there a way to gather data on parent proxying efficacity: were the
CLOSEST_PARENT_MISS fetches really quicker that a CLOSEST/DIRECT fetch
would have been?

I know that the parent is selected based on a smaller RTT, but I talk
about the whole transaction.
