Regarding squid and async metadata updates, JFS, LFS etc:
Has anyone tried squid on a netapp?
I'm running netnews onto a netapp and it works great.
I think that the same attributes that make the WAFL filesystem
work well for netnews would also provide excellent performance
for squid.
The only downside is the netapp was tres cher :(
