Hmm very strange.. If you run RunCache & then even if squid falls over i.e. core dumps
on you it should still come back to life.
apart from that if you wish to use a script you could make one like the following -
if ps | grep "Your Squid command line "
then exit
else "Your Squid Command line"
fi
And run this in your cron..
cul8r...
