rebuilding in fast mode

I'm encountering weird behaviour (albeit with 1.0.20), which someone
here might be able to shed light on (especially the person that
was working on the rebuild code - I can only remember that it
was someone in Australia).

At around 500,000 lines read in from the old log file, after a restart,
Squid stops responding timely to requests.

Has anyone got any thoughts about this? It did occur to me
that maybe I'm getting a problem due to adding all these large numbers
of URLs in one go..

I note that there's a HASH_SIZE in src/hash.h, I probably ought
to be increasing the default one from its default 7951 to something
a bit larger.
