Re: Failsafe proxy hierarchy configuration

I think there biggest problem in implementing a failsafe
proxy hierarchy is not so much on proxy on the higher
level but those proxies that users access.

Local director should help with the problem but they
are kind of expensive.

It will be nice to have a mechanism either on DNS
or depatcher type of daemon to do a Round Robin on
child caches.

I believe that a single failure on the parent caches
will not have a major impact on the whole architecture
but a single failure on the child caches will cause
user interruption.

Another interesting thing that can be works on is
a fail over mechanism in cache daemon itself that
will query neighboring caches. If the neighbor
cache failed, it will take over it's functionality.

A commercial HA product can do the similar job, but
for the use of proxy cache, when there isn't really
any shared data, it is a little overkill.
