Logfile Analysis scripts

I'm trying to use the Logfile Analysis scripts, but whenever I attempt to do so
I get empty result files. For example when doing:
ccess-extract.pl < access.log > summary

the result is:
# SORTING %SE, 0 values...
# THRESH %SE = 0
# SORTING %PR, 0 values...
# THRESH %PR = 0
# SORTING %ME, 0 values...
# THRESH %ME = 0
# SORTING %DO, 0 values...
# THRESH %DO = 0

# THRESH %TI = 0
# SORTING %TY, 0 values...
# THRESH %TY = 0
# SORTING %CL, 0 values...
# THRESH %CL = 0

TO|UDP|REQUESTS -1
TO|TCP|BYTES -1
TIMESTAMP|FIRST 194.42.128.119
TIMESTAMP|LAST 194.42.128.106

My access.log file contains multiple of entries.

Perl 5 is installed, the required files are in place.

Any ideas why this is happening?
