Can someone shed some light on how "exactly" TCP_IFMODSINCE works?? I'm
getting this in access.log multiple times on items that I'm 100% sure they were
not changed since the last time they were requested such as:
194.42.128.22 - - [18/Jul/1996:15:17:55 +0300] "GET
http://www.neweast.ca/icons/blank.xbm" TCP_IFMODSINCE 29
The way I see it this should have definitely been a TCP_HIT since the xbm file
didn't change and should thus be retrieved from the cache.
And if this just checking whether it has been changed and just reporting it why
isn't it doing the same thing for every TCP_HIT then?
My TTL specifications are quite generic ie:
gopher 4 4320
http 8 4320
ftp 9 10080
thanx,
