We have to rewrite the ACL code first. It currently does not support
suspending the request to wait for additional information, but when
it does it will be quite easy to add ident lookups.

Another related thing is domain-based access control of clients. This too
requires that the request can be suspended to wait for additional DNS
lookups.

Both of these "penalties" will be controlled by access control lists. The
penalty will only be seen when needed to verify a specific ACL list, not
on all requests.

Both of these are planned for 1.1, but no guarantees.
