Nearest SQUID

Hi,
I just read the
 http://www.squid-cache.org/Intro/helping.html

I am kind of a "newbie" but I want to suggest a feature that might help to
increase the usability of SQUID. What do you think about setting up a server
named "nearest.squid-cache.org" which could be named in the browser settings,
redirecting requests to the nearest SQUID reachable?

Some sites have a routine to redirect users to the nearest mirror, this should
be possible for SQUID too.
