Hey All,
I would like to upgrade My Squid 2.5 stable 14 (on kernel 2.4.33
Redhat 9 32 bit)
To the latest Squid 3.1.5 (on kernel 2.6.34 Centos 5.5 64 bit).
Before I'm doing so, I have few questions that I would be thankful if
you can answer:
I have read before that they were some performance issues with 3.1
(beta) comparing to old Squid 2.X (mostly with small files).
http://www.mail-archive.com/squid-users@squid-cache.org/msg67955.html
Did these performance issues are relevant?
I couldn’t find an updated benchmark, how is Squid 3.1.5 performance
comparing to old Squid 2.X?
Memory usage:
Correct me if I am wrong, but ,I understand that the same memory
requirements are applied to Squid 3.1 as to the old Squid 2.5
(same configuration cache dir size/ RAM cache/ no core pool etc…) ?
Regarding HTTP 1.1:
I saw that declaration of HTTP 1.1 to the client/server were added and
then removed.
Is there an estimate if closer 3.1 versions will support and declare HTTP 1.1?
Many thanks,
Kimel
