Hello,
First apologies for bothering you all! Probably this is not the right
place to post my question, but I've asked on the squid-users list and
got no reply.
I am interested in finding out what's the current status on the
development of dynamic delay pools. I've looked into the mail archives
and the most recent reference to the subject is in Oct 2005:
http://www.squid-cache.org/mail-archive/squid-users/200510/0280.html
http://www.squid-cache.org/mail-archive/squid-users/200510/0320.html
Basically the needed functionality would be to set traffic limits for
certain classes (pools) but to allow those limits to be overpassed in
the sense that a pool with a high a traffic rate demand can borrow
unused bandwidth from other delay pools. I am using Squid2.5Stable12.
I've tried that patch but for some reason it doesn't seem to work for
me, maybe I am using it in the wrong way (I can give the full details
in a further message if you need them). Is that patch supposed to work
with Squid2.5Stable12? Or is any support for dynamic delay pools
already included in the official releases? Is there any other way to
have the above described behavior?
Once more, please excuse me for bumping in here like that!
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you very much!
Best wishes,
Rudi
