The description is obviously wrong here considering the current default..

Should read "If set to zero, ..." (fixed)

Because it in most configurations is nice if Squid gives back memory to
the OS after a situation where it temporarily used a lot of some pooled
item. This has happened many times in the past with temporary memory leaks
and other similar problems, and can also happen in a few cases by design.
