For 2.5 you need to use the 2.5 version of the patch.

For 3.0 you need to use the HEAD version of the patch.

If there is any rejects then you need to manually applyting the rejected
parts. Trying to apply the 2.5 version of the patch to current 2.5
versions gives a trivial reject in src/structs.h otherwise the patch
applied fine.

Which versions are you using where/how?
