Multiple squid instance

Hello Henrick,

    I need some guidance on the multiple squid instance on the same machine .I need to know about the performace of them too.

    Type 1
       Single Machine
                ---> squid listents 3120 (using separate cache)
                ----> squid listenst some other port (using separate cache)
       Here two squid's are running on the same machine with separate cache's

    Type 2
            Two squid's are running on the same machine but using one common cache directory.

    Type 3:
          a. Mutliple squid's are running on the same machine but using the commong cache directory
          b. Mutliple squid's are running on the same machine but using the individual cache directory

    Type 4:
        Single machine
                --> squid for proxy
                ----> squid for reverse proxy (both using same cache | separate cache)

    Which situation ,squid will be better when we are using multiple instances on a same machine.
