Well.. the method is actually hinted in the CVS manual (C.3.2) and many
other places.. and it is not really permissions. It is more of a filter
to make sure people do not unintentionally do things they should not be
doing. Bypassing this type of access controls is in most cases trivial,
but at least you know you are bypassing the control..
Anyway, it is sufficient to get the job done here, and most likely in
many other similar setups.
You are free to copy the script if needed, but do not blaim me if it
fails (CVSROOT/commit-check.sh, referenced by CVSROOT/commitinfo). It is
a 5 minutes hack, and not a very pretty one. I am pretty sure there is
plenty of other better commitinfo scripts doing the same thing, only
that I have not tripped over one..
Also note that the branch support is somewhat dependent on the CVS
server version, and that this hack has only been tested with remote CVS
repositories.. (have seen problems with other similar scripts when
runing a local CVS repository)
