Sorry, I misread your comment. (long day.)  I agree that data could and 
should (eventually) start being returned to the client as soon as those 
bytes are set in stone.  So the transcoding itself doesn't have to be 
finished, just the download of the object being modified (which is what I 
misread you as commenting on).  Anyway, the rest of the reply should still 
be relevant. :)
