Don't worry about unneeded directories.. CVS cleans this for you using
the -P option.
The correct command for updating a existing working directory is:
cvs update -kk -d -P
I hope to clean up some of the directories within some months or so, and
to delete a huge amount of old versions no longer needed (no tag on
them).
