Access logging

Hi all.

Would it be feasible to modify the access logging system
to work in a similar way to the unlink daemon system.
E.g. having an external process that we send log entries to
for processing.

I have modified a version of squid to do this, but I am wondering
about performance issues and so on.

Any pointers/ideas?
