Using what DNS library? libares or something else?
And is it possible to revert Squid to gethostbyname/addr usage (i.e.
dnsserver). People using Squid as an accelerator does not always have
DNS configured with the backend (accelerated) hsots but instead use
local hosts files to avoid the burden of building a split DNS system
only for the accelerator.
